Fear of Failure; XenoPhobia type 2

Atychiphobia is the abnormal, unwarranted, and persistent fear of failure, a type of specific phobia. As with many phobias, atychiphobia often leads to a constricted lifestyle, and is particularly devastating for its effects on a person’s willingness to attempt certain activities.

Everyone hates to fail, forgetting the fact that failure precedes success. Whilst to say anyone who fears to fail fears to succeed or is not ready to succeed.

What causes fear of failure?

  1. Disappointment in the previous years: Previous experience owing to our background, daily encounter, our environment, peer group e.t.c that have resulted to chagrin all account for fear of failure in the future.
  2. Big dreams: Anxiety owing to the fact that we have set too much of goals can cause our system to fear. For example, whenever we dream big, we want to either cut back or think bigger because of failure.
  3. Seeing other people fail: Most especially when we see other people who seem to be better off fail, we tend to exercise fear of failing as well and we conclude ours is imminent and inevitable.
  4. Sin: This is what i call an overall causes of fear, especially for those who have got conscience. I am a living testimony of someone who gets afraid because of previous misdeed/sin. When you commit some sort of sin especially to your creator, there comes an iota of failure in your thoughts.

How to overcome fear of failure.

Simple as ABC, look forward to the future, set small goals, take a step at a time, worry less and desist from doing bad.

Note: Fear is the opposite of faith

Keep FAITHING, keep Believing, Keep hoping…..and you will surely overcome.
